About Treatment

Using a series of specified questions, your practitioner will explore your symptoms with you to determine where the blockage is and what the best style of treatment will be for your session.

A shoulder knot for instance, is creating a blockage that you can feel and will eventually result in pain or discomfort. What acupuncture and supporting modalities (such as cupping) will do is increase the circulation and open up the whole area so healing can occur and the body can do what it does best. A pain area can be seen as a dam. Once we unblock the dam, we have more flow! The flow (blood and qi) will come in and clear the debris.

That said, if you are having pain due to constant, repetitive movement (or lack thereof), acupuncture will be a temporary fix. If you continue to carry on with those habits, you will need more maintenance visits to keep you on your game. Often times, once we bring more AWARENESS to our habitual, and often unconscious movements, we can begin to adjust how we move.

As a species, we are currently the the most stationary we have ever been! Most of us spend hours a day sitting on electronics and wonder why our backs hurt. We are not designed for that! However, if that’s what we must do, then let’s create an harmonious physical environment, and establish healthy habits to keep you from breaking down!

Pain is our body’s way of getting attention. The more you ignore it, the louder it will get and, eventually, you will not be able to ignore it.

Give your body the love and care it deserves, so you can continue to kick ass.
